This month, Strativera earned Google Partner status, and as of August 2026 we hold a perfect 5.0 rating across all 23 of our client reviews on Clutch, the B2B platform that independently verifies agency-client relationships. We could write a victory lap about that. A more useful thing to publish is the standard we would tell any buyer to hold an agency to before signing a retainer, and then to apply that standard to us, in public, with the receipts attached. That is what this article does.
Why buying marketing is harder than buying almost anything else
Marketing services are among the easiest purchases to oversell and the hardest to audit. Claims are cheap: any agency can publish a wall of logos, a curated testimonial, and a “results-driven” tagline. Attribution is genuinely murky: when revenue moves, the agency, the sales team, the market, and the season all claim credit. And the switching costs are real, so a bad choice usually costs two or three quarters, not one invoice.
The way through is not better promises. It is verifiability: choosing partners whose claims can be checked against sources they do not control, and whose work is instrumented so that results are measured rather than narrated. That principle is the foundation of our own revenue operations practice, and it applies just as cleanly to hiring an agency as it does to running one.
A five-part verification standard for agency selection
Here is the checklist we recommend to every buyer evaluating a shortlist, including a shortlist that has us on it.
1. Verify credentials at the issuer, not on the agency’s website. A badge image proves the agency has an image file. Google Partner status, for example, is only real if it appears in Google’s own Partners directory, because Google grants it against published thresholds for Google Ads certification, account performance, and managed ad spend, and revokes it when agencies fall below them.
2. Read verified reviews, not testimonials. Testimonials are curated by the seller. Verified reviews on platforms like Clutch are validated through analyst interviews or business-identity confirmation, published whether flattering or not, and scored on dimensions the agency cannot edit: quality, schedule, cost, and willingness to refer.
3. Demand numbers with dates and named services. “Grew revenue significantly” is a sentence. “Revenue up 37 percent year over year, net margins from 8 to 17 percent, beginning June 2025, from pricing analysis, a website rebuild, and Google Ads” is a claim you can interrogate.
4. Cross-check platforms. A rating that holds at 5.0 across Clutch, Google, and GoodFirms simultaneously is far harder to manufacture than a single-platform score, because each platform has different reviewers, different verification, and different incentives.
5. Ask how they will prove it worked. This is the question that separates marketing vendors from growth partners. If an agency cannot describe, before the engagement starts, how spend will be connected to pipeline and closed revenue inside your CRM, then every future results conversation will be an opinion. Revenue attribution is not a reporting feature; it is the condition that makes accountability possible.
Applying the standard to ourselves
Run Strativera through the same five checks. Our Google Partner status is verifiable in Google’s directory, not just on this site. On Clutch, we hold certification for Marketing Strategy and Pay Per Click along with Premier Verified status, with all 23 client reviews rating us 5.0 on every dimension the platform measures, including 7 reviews independently verified by Clutch’s analyst team that also average 5.0.
The cross-platform check, as of August 2026:
And the numbers-with-dates check is what the rest of this article is for. Across engagements documented in our case studies, our work has contributed to more than $104M in client revenue growth with a 28 percent average reduction in customer acquisition cost. Aggregates are easy to wave around, though, so here are three specific engagements from our Clutch reviews, with the sources linked.
The system behind the reviews
Before the examples, the method, because the results are not three lucky campaigns. Every Strativera engagement runs the same architecture. Strategy comes first: positioning and sales alignment and a go-to-market plan that defines where the client wins and what a qualified opportunity is worth. Execution runs as one system rather than disconnected channels: SEO and local SEO, paid search, web design built to convert, content and AI search visibility, and email and lifecycle automation. And measurement is built in from day one: CRM and platform integration, attribution, and financial reporting that lets an owner or a CFO see exactly which dollar produced which job. Strategy without execution is shelfware; execution without attribution is faith. The engagements below are what happens when all three run together.
One truck to five trucks in under a year
When a metro Atlanta 24/7 emergency plumbing company engaged us in July 2025, the owner ran a single truck with part-time help and was still doing fieldwork himself. We built the company’s website, then ran local SEO, Google Ads, and Meta advertising as one system tied to booked jobs, the same playbook behind our multi-location HVAC and plumbing work and our broader home services practice. In his verified Clutch review, published August 1, 2026, the owner reports running five trucks and being off the tools completely: “1 truck to 5 trucks in less than a year. That says it all.”
Revenue up 37 percent, margins from 8 to 17 percent
Rupertan LLC, a Polk County, Florida landscaping and hardscaping company operating since 2005, engaged us in June 2025 for a full growth rebuild: brand and logo redesign, pricing and margin analysis across its core service lines, a website rebuilt on local SEO best practices with dedicated service-area pages, Google Ads management, and Google Business Profile optimization for map pack rankings. The pricing work mattered as much as the marketing: the analysis surfaced margin the business had been giving away for years. In Rupertan’s verified Clutch review, owner Jesus Gonzalez reports revenue up 37 percent year over year, net margins improving from 8 percent to 17 percent, and total profit nearly tripling: “They treated our business like it was their own.”
$5 million in annualized savings for a PE-backed healthcare company
At the other end of the size spectrum, in an engagement that began in May 2025 and sits in Clutch’s $200,000 to $999,999 budget band, we provide performance marketing optimization, RevOps strategy and execution, and CRM implementation and migration support, including HubSpot onboarding, for a private equity-backed consumer healthcare company. The client reports on our Clutch profile that the work reduced cost per sale by roughly $30 with no negative top-line impact, worth an estimated $5 million in annualized savings, and contributed approximately $4 million in incremental EBITDA within six months. It is the same operating model we apply across our healthcare and private equity portfolio work: fix the data foundation, then make every marketing dollar answer to it.
What to do with this
If you are evaluating agencies right now, take the five checks above and run your entire shortlist through them, including us. Where a claim cannot be verified at the source, treat it as decoration. If you want a concrete starting point on your own house, our free website audit shows how your site performs on the visibility and conversion fundamentals before anyone asks you for a budget, and a discovery call gets you a senior operator, not a sales rep.
“We pursued third-party verification on purpose,” said Joe Levy, Co-Founder and President of Strativera. “Any agency can claim results. We would rather have Google review our account performance and Clutch interview our clients on the record. Buyers should demand that standard from every agency they evaluate, including us.”
And speaking for myself: every one of those reviews is a client who took the time to tell Clutch about working with us. That is the trust we protect first.
